Upcoming Webinar for DND IDEaS (Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security)

The Department of National Defence (DND) has created a funding program called IDEaS, (Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security) that many SFU researchers successfully applied for in 2018. As a follow up, DND offers a webinar to:

 

  1. Show how to connect with further opportunities in the Canadian defence and aerospace sector;
  2. Learn about the Canadian Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) policy; and
  3. Learn about how to connect with Prime contractors with obligations to spend on Canadian technologies.

 

The webinar is taking place on March 3rd at 11:00AM PST. ORS and ISA are offering a group viewing at Room 280, Discovery 2. Please forward this email to anyone you believe would be interested in attending the webinar.

What are ITBs?

Through the Canadian ITB policy, defence contractors are required to do an equal amount of business in Canada as their contract value. Currently, there are over $3.2 billion in potential opportunities for Canadian businesses that can be leveraged to fund R&D projects, grow your business and gain export work.
