The MSFHR supports BC health researchers in advancing their products or technologies towards practical application to improve health outcomes, benefit society, and enrich the health innovation ecosystem in BC through contributing to talent development and a strong, sustainable knowledge economy.

CIHR Project Grant(Deadline March 6, 2018)- CIHR

The Project Grant program is designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential to advance health-related fundamental or applied knowledge, health research, health care, health systems, and/or health outcomes. It supports projects with a specific purpose and a defined endpoint. The best ideas may stem from new, incremental, innovative, and/or high-risk lines of inquiry or knowledge translation approaches.

CIHR and funding partners in The Canadian National Transplant Research Program (CNTRP) supports nation-wide research collaborations that address health issues related to organ/tissue donation, solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. 

Operating Grant: Cancer Research Society Operating Grants- Full Application (Deadline Feb 15, 2018)

CIHR and partners in the Cancer Research Society Partnership (CIHR-ICR) have launched a funding call to support fundamental, early translational and environment-cancer research aimed at preventing, detecting and treating high fatality cancers.

Gender-Net Plus ERA-NET Cofund on Sex, Gender and UN Sustainable Development Goals- (Preproposal Deadline March 1, 2018)

CIHR and funding partners in GENDER-NET are pleased to announce that they will make funding available to support Canadian researcher interested in investigating sex and gender in health to promote the integration of sex and gender analysis in research projects at an international level in research topics relating to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

CIHR Operating Grant: Joint Programme on Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) 2018- (Preproposal Deadline March 6, 2018)

CIHR and funding partners in the EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) has launched a new call for proposals to support multi-national and multi-disciplinary collaborative research projects to coordinate research efforts across countries and disciplines to more rapidly find causes, develop cures and identify better ways to care for people with neurodegenerative disease.

The Weston Brain Institute provides funding for preclincial translational research that will accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.

Navigator Research Program- (Letter of Intent Deadline Feb 15, 2018)

The Huntington Society of Canada is funding basic scientific research of direct and immediate relevance to Huntington Disease to support outstanding investigators in HD research and facilitate national and international collaborations.

Breathing as one: Allied Health Research Grants- (Deadline Feb 28, 2018)

The Lung Association is pleased to launch the request for applications for 2018 Lung Association Breathing as One Allied Health Research Grants. The funding call seeks research proposals in the area of respiratory health in Canada that have an applied or clinically focus. 

Global Grand Challenges: Saving Lives at Birth- (Deadline Feb 28, 2018)

The Gates Foundation and its 5 partners are seeking innovative interventions for pregnant women and newborns in poor, hard-to-reach communities around the time of delivery.
