Sep 1 Deadline – NSERC Awards for Science Promotion: The NSERC Awards for Science Promotion honour individuals and groups who make an outstanding contribution to the promotion of science in Canada through activities encouraging popular interest in science or developing science abilities. Two recipients (one individual and one group) may be selected for the awards each year.

Sep 7 Deadline – Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Fellows: ACM's most prestigious member grade recognizes the top 1% of ACM members for their outstanding accomplishments in computing and information technology and/or outstanding service to ACM and the larger computing community.

Sep 15 Deadline – Abel Prize: Contributions to the field of mathematics that are of extraordinary depth and influence.

Sep 15 Deadline – Wolf Prize: Awarded to renowned scientists and artists for their achievements for humanity and for friendly relations between peoples, regardless of nationality, race, color, religion, gender, or political outlook. The fields of science include agriculture, chemistry, mathematics, medicine and physics, and in art - in annual rotation - architecture, music, painting and sculpture.

Sep 30 Deadline – CIC/SCI Canada Awards: The CIC awards program recognizes overall contributions to research and the chemical sciences and engineering community of chemists, chemical engineers and chemical technologists.

Sep 30 Deadline – Royal Society of London Foreign Fellowship: The Royal Society is a self-governing Fellowship made up of the most eminent scientists, engineers and technologists from the UK and the Commonwealth. Fellows and Foreign Members are elected for life through a peer review process on the basis of excellence in science. There are approximately 1,600 Fellows and Foreign Members, including around 80 Nobel Laureates. Each year up to 52 Fellows and up to 10 Foreign Members are elected from a group of around 700 candidates who are proposed by the existing Fellowship.

Sep 30 Deadline – Stockholm Water Prize: Honours individuals, organizations and institutions whose work contributes to the conservation and protection of water resources, and to the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants.

Oct 15 Deadline – Blue Planet Prize: This award is presented by the Asahi Glass Foundation to individuals or organizations worldwide in recognition of outstanding achievements in scientific research and its application that have helped provide solutions to global environmental problems. The Prize is offered in the hopes of encouraging efforts to bring about the healing of the Earth’s fragile environment.

Oct 15 Deadline – Surrey Innovation Awards: The Surrey Innovation Awards celebrates, educates, and connects innovators across all industries by Surrey businesses and helps make Surrey a recognized hub of innovation by igniting a new narrative for our city, strengthening its economic future and building the spirit of innovation. Categories incl. Small Business Innovation Award, Young Innovator Award.

Oct 23 Deadline – Arctic Inspiration Prize: The Arctic Inspiration Prize is intended for multidisciplinary teams who have made a substantial, demonstrated and distinguished contribution to the gathering of Arctic knowledge and who have provided a concrete plan and commitment to implement their knowledge into real world application for the benefit of the Canadian Arctic, its Peoples and therefore Canada as a whole.

Oct 31 Deadline – Warren Alpert Foundation Prize: Recognizes and honors one or more scientists, physicians and researchers whose scientific achievements have led to the prevention, cure or treatment of human diseases or disorders, and/or whose research constitutes a seminal scientific finding that holds great promise of ultimately changing our understanding of or ability to treat disease.

Nov 5 Deadline – Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Fellowships: Goals of the SIAM Fellows Program include: To honor SIAM members who are recognized by their peers as distinguished for their contributions to the discipline; To help make outstanding SIAM members more competitive for awards and honors when they are being compared with colleagues from other disciplines and; To support the advancement of SIAM members to leadership positions in their own institutions and in the broader society.

Nov 16 Deadline – Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize in the Physical Sciences: The Raymond and Beverly Sackler International Prize in the Physical Sciences, awarded at Tel Aviv University, was established through the generosity of Dr. Raymond and Mrs. Beverly Sackler. The prize is awarded alternatively in the fields of Chemistry and Physics, and is intended to encourage dedication to science, originality and excellence by rewarding outstanding young scientists, under 40 years of age. Self nominations are not accepted.

Nov 21 Deadline – Fermi Awards: The Fermi Awards are given to encourage excellence in research in energy science and technology benefiting to mankind; to recognize scientists, engineers and science policymakers who have given unstintingly over their careers to advance energy science and technology; and to inspire people of all ages through the examples of Enrico Fermi and the Fermi Award laureates who followed in his footsteps to explore new and scientific horizons.

Nov 24 Deadline – Governor General’s International Award in Canadian Studies: Intended for a scholar who has made an outstanding contribution to scholarship and to the development of Canadian Studies Internationally.

Nov 25 Deadline – Eni Awards: The Eni Award aims to reward the most advanced scientific breakthroughs in the field of energy made by the best researchers around the world. Our aim is to be a sort of “Nobel Prize for Energy”; a wide-ranging initiative based on a network of scientific excellence on issues around energy and the environment and with young researchers as the main protagonists.

Nov 30 Deadline – Shaw Prize: The Shaw Prize is an international award to honour individuals who are currently active in their respective fields and who have recently achieved distinguished and significant advances, who have made outstanding contributions in academic and scientific research or applications, or who in other domains have achieved excellence. The award is dedicated to furthering societal progress, enhancing quality of life, and enriching humanity's spiritual civilization.

Dec 1 Deadline – Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering Awards: The CSChE confers awards to recognize professionals who have made outstanding contributions to chemical engineering.

Dec 15 Deadline – Geological Association of Canada Awards: The Geological Association of Canada facilitates the scientific well-being and professional development of its members, the learned discussion of geoscience in Canada, and the advancement, dissemination, and wise use of geoscience in public, professional, and academic life.

Dec 22 Deadline – Canadian Innovation Awards: Recognize and celebrate exceptional achievement by individuals, companies, and organizations in the field of technology and business innovation in Canada.

Dec 31 Deadline – Bressler Prize in Vision Science: The Bressler Prize in Vision Science was established in 2001 to honor Alfred W. Bressler, Esq., a distinguished New York attorney and benefactor. It recognizes established mid-career vision clinicians or scientists whose leadership, research and service have led to important advancements in the understanding of vision loss, treatment of eye disease or the rehabilitation of people with vision loss. It includes an unrestricted cash prize of $50,000 US.

Dec 31 Deadline – International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) Medal: The IASC Medal is awarded in recognition of exceptional and sustained contributions to the understanding of the Arctic.

Nov 30 Deadline – Small Business BC Award: The Small Business BC Awards recognizes the contributions and achievements of BC small business owners.

Nov 30 Deadline – Dan David Prize: The prizes are granted to individuals or institutions with proven, exceptional, distinct excellence in the sciences, arts, humanities, public service and business, that have made and continue to make an outstanding contribution to humanity on the basis of merit, without discrimination of gender, race, religion, nationality, or political affiliation.

Dec 15 Deadline – Gruber Prizes: The International Prize Program honours individuals in the fields of Cosmology, Genetics, and Neuroscience, whose groundbreaking work provides new models that inspire and enable fundamental shifts in knowledge and culture. Self-nominations are not accepted.

Dec 18 Deadline – Albert Einstein World Award of Science: Recognition and encouragement for scientific and technological research and development. It takes into special consideration research which has brought true benefit and wellbeing to mankind.
