Funding Alert, 2018-2019 CIHR Project and Foundation Grant Competitions

On July 11, 2018, CIHR announced the launch of the 2018-2019 Foundation Grant and Project Grant competitions.
- The 2018-2019 Foundation Grant Program is designed to contribute to a sustainable foundation of new and established health research leaders, by providing long-term support for the pursuit of innovative and high-impact research programs.

Aug 15: Registration*
Sep 19: Stage 1 (SFU internal deadline Sep 14)
Feb 6: Stage 2 (SFU internal deadline Feb 1)
- The Fall 2018-Spring 2019 Project Grant Program is designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential to advance health-related fundamental or applied knowledge, health research, health care, health systems, and/or health outcomes.

Sep 12: Fall Application (SFU internal deadline Sep 7)
Feb 6: Spring Registration *

Project Grant Priority Announcements (PAs) in the Fall competition offer additional sources of funds of up to $100,000 for highly rated applications that are relevant to specific research areas including:

For Foundation Stage 1 and Stage 2 applications, and Project Grant Fall/Spring Applications, SFU signature sheet is due in Research Services, and application must be in "submit mode", by SFU internal deadline.
