2019 MSFHR Competition Updates

Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) is currently revamping their suite of funding programs including the Scholar Awards, Convening & Collaborating (C2) Awards, Innovation to Commercialization (I2C) Awards, Reach Awards and others. Part of their revamp includes rescheduling the deadlines for these competitions for the 2019 fiscal year.
Below are the anticipated launch dates for only the MSFHR competitions that will be processed by Research Services (ORS). *Competitions not listed here are handled by Department of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
Information about submission deadlines will be made available as soon as these competitions are launched. Note the deadlines will be different from last year.
Supports early-career health researchers who are building leading-edge health research programs, training junior scientists and expanding their potential to make significant contributions to their field.

Maximum Award: $450,000 CAD
The MSFHR Innovation to Commercialization (I2C) Program provides funding support to help BC health researchers advance their products or technologies towards practical application to improve health outcomes, benefit society, and enrich the health innovation ecosystem in BC through contributing to talent development and a strong, sustainable knowledge economy.
Launch Date: April 2019
Deadlines: TBD
Maximum Award: $15,000 CAD
C2 awards support teams of health researchers and research users planning and carrying out collaborative activities such as stakeholder consultations, public engagement or co-development of research methodologies.
The MSFHR Reach Program provides funding to support the dissemination and uptake of research evidence to inform and improve further research, practice and policy-making.
