Spring 2019 Project Grant Competition- Updates

The Project Grant Program is designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential to advance health-related fundamental or applied knowledge, health research, health care, health systems, and/or health outcomes.

Upcoming Registration deadline: Feb 6, 2019
Application deadline: March 6, 2019 (SFU internal March 1, 2019)

 

Important updates:

  • Support tools: CIHR has updated the Learning for Applicants tools and is offering a number of webinars in French and English. 
  • NEW eligibility update: Per the announcement made on January 7, 2019, Foundation grantees originally funded as early career researchers (ECRs) are now eligible to apply for Project Grants in the role of Nominated Principal Applicant or Principal Applicant, starting with the Spring 2019 Project Grant competition.
  • Update on Registration Submission Process: Please review new registration submission requirements here.
  • Priority Announcements: CIHR is pleased to support a number of Priority Announcements PAs as part of the Spring 2019 Project Grant Competition. NEW: Note that applications rated below 3.5 are not eligible for funding through PAs since they were assessed as being non-competitive.

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) continues its long-standing collaboration with the European Commission (EC) by supporting seven joint transnational calls in 2019. Below are the pre-announcements.
