Idea to Innovation (I2I) Grants

The objective of the Idea to Innovation (I2I) Grants  is to accelerate the pre-competitive development of promising technology originating from the university and to promote its transfer to a new or established Canadian company.

National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Charles Stark Draper Prize for Engineering

Recognizes a specific achievement or series of achievements in any engineering discipline.

Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Synergy Awards for Innovation
NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council)
Deadline: April 15, 2019
Recognizes partnerships in natural sciences and engineering research and development between universities and Canadian industries.

Chairs in Design Engineering (CDE)
NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council)
Deadline: April 15, 2019
Chairs in Design Engineering (CDEs) were established to improve the level and quality of design engineering activity within Canadian universities. NSERC encourages a multidisciplinary view of design engineering and encourages applications from all engineering disciplines. The funding for the Chair is for up to 5 years, with the option to renew once. The Full Application, by invitation only, is due in September.

Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) - LOI
NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council)
Deadline: May 1, 2019
CREATE supports the training of teams of highly qualified graduate (master's and doctoral) students from Canada and abroad through the development of innovative training programs. SFU is given a quota on the Letters of Intent (LOI) that can be submitted to NSERC.
