WorkSafe BC - Research Training Awards

WorkSafeBC is committed to creating a province free from workplace injury, disease, and death, and to providing service driven by our core values of integrity, accountability, innovation, service, and partnership. Research Services has an annual budget of $1.5 million for research grants. Funding is offered through four grant categories, for projects that align with our mandate and research priorities.
Research Training Awards are designed to foster the development of occupational health and safety research expertise in B.C. These awards are available to highly-qualified graduate students at the master's and doctoral level and their purpose is to enable highly qualified students to undertake full-time research training. Research projects must relate to:
- occupational injury and disease
- workplace exposures
- prevention of injury or disease
- treatment of injury or disease
- disability management, vocational rehabilitation, and return to work
- Workers' compensation
- any of our research priorities
Eligibility: Applicants need to be engaged in a full-time graduate studies program with a B.C. university. International students are welcome to apply.
Funding Amount: Awards include a $20,000 stipend and a $2,500 research and travel allowance. Master's students receive one year of funding and doctoral students receive two years of funding.
