Basil O'Connor Starter Scholar Research Grants (BOC)

This program provides support to young scientists embarking on their independent research careers.

Eligibility: Applicants should be between four and eight years past receipt of the PhD. Successful applicants have traditionally completed four to six years of postdoctoral training or other faculty-mentored work. BOC applicants may not be recipients of a major grant at the time of application. They are nominated by their Dean, Chair of the Department or Director of Institutes/Centres.
