Alliance Grants

Alliance Grants is NSERC's new, simplified partnerships program launched in 2019. Alliance grants encourage university researchers to collaborate with partner organizations, which can be from the private, public or not-for-profit sectors. These grants support research projects led by strong, complementary, collaborative teams that will generate new knowledge and accelerate the application of research results to create benefits for Canada.
The Alliance Grants program will be phased in gradually. NSERC is now accepting applications requesting over $20,000 annually from NSERC in Option 1 and Option 2 applications requesting support for up to 90% or 100% of the costs of the project.
There is no deadline. Interested applicants should contact their faculty Research Facilitator and visit the ISA website.
Eligibility: Alliance Grant applications can be submitted by individual researchers or teams of researchers who are eligible to receive NSERC funds and at least one partner organization whose cash contributions will be recognized for cost-sharing.
