The University Publications Fund (UPF) is established under the authority of the Vice-President, Research for the purpose of providing support to faculty and staff of Simon Fraser University towards academic publications.

    • Award: Greater than $2,000 CAD with no set limit
  • Serial Event Publications
    • Application Intake: April 12 - May 13, 2019, 4:30 pm (PST)
    • Award: Greater than $2,000 CAD with no set limit
  • Rapid Response Publications
    • Application Intake: Continuous
    • Award: To a maximum of $2,000

 

William and Ada Isabelle Steel Fund

The William and Ada Isabelle Steel Fund reflects the intent of the endowment left by William and Ada Isabelle Steel for research studies into any aspect of alcoholism and/or drug addiction.

SFU/SSHRC Small Research Grants // Spring Intake

SFU/SSHRC Small Research Grants support scholarly research in the contemporary arts, humanities and social sciences.

  • Application Intake: April 20 - June 1, 2019, 4:30 pm (PST)
  • Award: To a maximum of $7,000 CAD for a single applicant, or to a maximum of $10,000 CAD if including one/or more eligible co-investigators.

 

VPR Travel Grants, Social Sciences/Hummanities, Pool 1

VPR Travel Grants, Social Sciences/Humanities, Pool 1 [April 1 through August 31]

Deadline: August 31, 2019 (or when funds exhausted)
VP Research Travel Grants are provided for faculty in areas supported by SSHRC to attend conferences to present a paper (including the presentation of a poster in a poster session), to serve as a keynote speaker or in the case of faculty in the School for the Contemporary Arts, to present one’s own creative work to a peer group. Awards for North American travel to a Maximum of $900 and International travel to a Maximum of $2,000.
